My beautiful shower cake made by our good friend (and cousin) Jennifer. She and our other friend, Nicole had a surprise shower for us!! It was amazing!
I was at the boys' program at school today and thought to myself, one day we will be here watching Helen!! It was surreal-I still can't believe she is my daughter. We cannot wait to meet her and pray for an easy transition. She is a smart little cookie-she definitely has different faces when traveling parents take pictures of her and when the in-country staff does!! She is all smiles when people she is familiar with take her picture and very wary with others. I imagine she is going to throw a few of those looks our way!!
I cannot believe the next time I update our blog, I will have met our daughter, Helen! For those of you waiting, hang in there, it is SO worth it!!!
Love to you all!
That cake is awesome!!! Safe travels for you and Buddy. You guys look great, I told Ben I am thinking of you guys and praying for you constantly and for Helen too! I love the red nc state picture frame in the back! Congrats again :)

ReplyDeleteThe cake is absolutely gorgeous. Have a safe trip!
ReplyDeleteMaggie-Grace and I can hardly wait until you guys get home with Helen! M-G is already chomping the bit to meet Helen. She has even mentioned being at the airport when you fly in! NO, we won't do that......You all and Helen need a little adjusting time before we meet. The little Princess is already so very much loved!
ReplyDeleteBy now, Cassandra & Buddy, you probably have held sweet Helen in your arms....I can just picture the happy tears just flowing! There is nothing more precious in the world as holding your baby for the first time......whether the baby grew in your belly or in your heart!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you as you travel back home safely....... Jennifer & Maggie-Grace
I have been thinking about you all so often this week and praying that everything is going good! Can't wait to see that your home and pictures!
ReplyDeleteA few days ago, your Dad told me about Helen crying when you left her at the orphanage so you could do some errands......I grinned and rejoiced.......she is already attached to you both! I know the boys must be soooooooo very excited to meet their little sister......along with all the Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, friends, and, of course, cousins! lol!
